Adult Video Chat FAQ
The questions people actually ask before their first match: how matching works, what it costs once your free matches are gone, how to skip, block and report, what happens to your camera, and where the rules live. Start with live video chat if you would rather read it as a walkthrough.
Getting started — video chat with no registration
What RandomChat is, who it is for, and how much you have to hand over before your first match.
What is RandomChat?
RandomChat is an adult live video chat platform for private, real-time one-on-one conversations with real people. You press start, get matched with someone who is online at that moment, and talk by video, voice or text. It is strictly for adults aged 18 and over.
Do I need an account before my first match?
There is no registration form standing between you and the matching screen, which is what most people mean when they search for video chat no registration. Because the platform is 18+ only, you are asked to confirm you are old enough before anything opens.
Who is allowed to use RandomChat?
Adults aged 18 and over, and nobody else. Accounts found to belong to minors are removed immediately and reported where the law requires it. The 18+ age check is not a formality here — it is the condition for the platform existing at all.
How random video chat matching works
What happens between pressing start and talking to someone.
How does matching actually work?
Press start and you are connected to another member who is online right now, usually within a few seconds. There are no profiles to read first and no waiting room. If the match is not for you, skip and the next one opens straight away — that is the whole rhythm of chat at random: decide fast, stay or move on.
Are these real people, live?
Yes. Matching only draws from members who are online at that moment. You are not being shown recorded clips or static profiles, which is why a match can answer you the second the call opens.
Can I choose who I talk to instead of being matched at random?
Yes. Browse the online users list to see who is available right now, or swipe the live feed and stop on whoever catches your eye. Both routes drop you into the same kind of private call as random matching — it is how most people start a video chat with girls and other members who are up for talking, instead of waiting for the roulette to land on them.
Is every chat one-on-one?
Every match is a private call between you and one other person. There are no group rooms, no audience and no public feed, and nobody can drop into a conversation that is already running. It is cam to cam with strangers, one at a time.
Can I chat by text only, without turning my camera on?
Yes — text is its own mode in the matching lobby, so you can land in a random text chat with one person and never open the camera. Worth knowing before you pick it: the free-match counter shown on video and voice does not apply to text matching, so treat text as a paid mode rather than a free one.
Is there a voice-only mode?
There is. Pick audio in the lobby and you get a random audio call — a live conversation with one person, camera off on both sides. Voice matches draw on the same free matches new members start with, so you can try it before spending anything.
Free matches and coins — how billing works
The money model in plain terms. Nothing here renews on its own.
Is RandomChat free?
New members get a set number of free matches to try the experience properly. That is genuinely free, but it is not unlimited — once those matches are used, it is simple pay-as-you-go.
What happens when my free matches run out?
Matching pauses until you top up with coins or take VIP. You are not charged for reaching that point, and closing the page costs you nothing. The decision to spend is always an action you take, never something that happens quietly — the full coins and VIP pricing is written out in one place.
Is there a subscription or auto-renew?
No. There is no subscription and no auto-renew. Coins and VIP are one-time purchases — you buy them when you want them, and nothing bills you again on its own. Billing is also not by the minute, so a long conversation does not run up a total in the background.
Do I need a card to start?
No card and no payment details are needed to begin. You only reach a payment step if you choose to buy coins or VIP after your free matches.
What is the difference between coins and VIP?
Coins are spent as you go on matches and features, so you control the pace. VIP unlocks member perks in a single purchase. Both are bought once; neither one renews automatically.
Safety, blocking and reporting
Every tool you need to end a conversation is on screen while you are in it.
Can I skip or leave a chat?
At any moment. Skip ends the current call and finds the next person. Mute cuts your microphone without leaving. Block means that member cannot be matched with you again. None of it is buried in a settings menu — in a random webcam chat the exit has to be as fast as the entrance, which is the first thing our adult video chat safety guide walks through.
How do I report someone?
Use the report tool in the session, or report the account afterwards. Reports go to moderation, which reviews what is flagged and acts on accounts that break the rules. Block the member as well if you never want to see them again.
What should I never share in a chat?
Keep your full name, address, workplace, financial details, passwords and verification codes to yourself, and never send money to someone you met in a match. Almost every bad story starts with one of those, and refusing costs you nothing.
What happens to my camera?
Your camera only runs while you are in a session, and you decide when that is. Skip, close the tab, or revoke the permission in your browser settings and the video stops going out. The browser holds the permission, so it is yours to withdraw at any time.
Is the platform moderated?
Yes. Moderation reviews reported sessions and enforces the community guidelines, and the platform is 18+ only. That does not make strangers automatically trustworthy — the tools are there because your own judgement is still the first line.
Accounts, privacy and anonymity
What people can learn about you, and what they cannot.
Is RandomChat anonymous?
It is anonymous video chat by default — you do not arrive with a public profile carrying your name, and no email or phone number is needed to start. What a match learns about you is what you choose to say and show.
How is my data handled?
What is collected, why, and how long it is kept is set out in full in the privacy policy rather than summarised loosely here.
Will people I know find me here?
Nothing links your matches to a social account, and there is no public directory of your conversations. The practical risk is what you reveal in a call, not what the platform publishes about you.
Devices, camera and connection
What you need, and the two things that usually go wrong first.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. RandomChat runs in any modern mobile, tablet or desktop browser. There is no app to download and no plugin to install — the phone in your hand is already enough for a full live video chat, cam to cam.
What do I need to run it?
A working camera and microphone and a connection steady enough for video. Grant the camera permission when the browser asks — if you refuse, there is no video to hand to the other side and the call cannot open.
My match cannot see or hear me. What now?
Check mute first, then check that the browser still has camera and microphone permission for the site. If both look right, a reload usually clears it before the connection is really at fault.
Rules and getting help
What is not allowed, and where to go when you need a person.
What behaviour is not allowed?
Harassment, threats, scams, impersonation, non-consensual behaviour, spam, illegal content and any content involving minors are prohibited. Accounts that do these things are removed — the community guidelines carry the full list.
Where do I find the full rules?
The Community Guidelines, Privacy Policy and Terms of Service in the legal section carry the binding versions of everything summarised on this page.
How do I get help with an account or a payment?
The help center handles account access, age checks and billing questions directly, and that is the right route for anything involving your own account rather than another member.
Where can I compare RandomChat with other sites?
If you have used other random video chat sites and want to know what is different here, the random video chat alternative page sets out the comparison honestly rather than as a sales pitch.
